Acquired Brain Injury and Physiotherapy
An Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) is a form of brain damage caused by
post/after birth events, more than genetic/congenital defects. ABI can
cause either mental, physical, emotional and/or behavioral impairments
that may be permanent or temporary. The impairments can come from either
traumatic brain injury (accidents, violent assaults etc) or
non-traumatic brain injury such as stroke, brain tumors or infections
