Dr. Dutton has been in
clinical practice since 1996 after graduating from Marist College,
Canberra and the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.
Dr. Dutton has worked at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney and the St. George Hospital, Sydney before completing his orthopaedic surgery training in Singapore.
He completed his subspecialty training and was on staff at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. During this time he was trained in complex surgeries of the Hip and Knee, while caring for patients that came for treatment from all across the USA and the staff at Harvard University.

Dr. Dutton has a close working relationship with the Singapore Sports Council and has operated on Singapore's elite national athletes in Football, Badminton, Basketball, Waterpolo, Netball, Softball, Athletics, Taekwondo, Wushu and Silat. He was also an official physician during the Youth Olympic Games 2010. Wanting to provide the most up to date treatment for his patients, Dr. Dutton has accomplished various firsts in orthopaedic surgery.

Minimally Invasive, Computer Guided Total Knee Replacement.
Dr. Dutton has been invited as a Distinguished International Faculty at the Harvard Arthroplasty Conference, USA and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Conference, USA.
In order to improve patient care, Dr. Dutton set up Singapore’s first Sports Surgery Registry at NUH and helped to set up the Hip and Knee Joint Replacement Registry.
Dr. Dutton was the recipient of the Singapore Orthopaedic Young Investigator Award for his work with Stem Cell therapy for the knee. He is a Principal and Co-Investigator in research with Stem Cell therapy for meniscus tears and cartilage damage of the knee.
Dr. Dutton has been an invited International Faculty for conferences in China, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. Orthopaedic surgeons from these countries have come to Singapore to train as clinical fellows under Dr. Dutton’s guidance.
Dr. Dutton has been routinely invited as an Examiner for the Final Professional MBBS examination and will still continue to teach medical students and train residents as a Visiting Consultant at NUH.
